Kerry Lucier, Founder and Owner of Aruna Chocolates
Welcome to Aruna Chocolates where LOVE is thē superfood. I birthed this company in June of 2010 and it started with the loving inspiration of my beautiful little girl, Aruna. She and I were standing at the chocolate table with our aprons on and towels over our shoulders when I asked if she would like to stir the chocolate. She began to stir the bowl while I reached up for an herb and when I came back to her she was whispering into the bowl the words, “I love you, I love you, I love you….”
Days later I went out and created the LLC and began a journey using my business as a path of awakening that continues to unfold with incredible magical loving moments.
I use the highest quality ingredients that are raw and certified organic free of any gluten, dairy, soy, haste and refined sugar. I offer vegan friendly chocolates as well that are sweetened with either palm sugar or coconut nectar.
So what is raw chocolate? Have you ever wondered what it is about chocolate that makes it so magical? Why is it the world’s favorite food? I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate, right? And why am I referring to it as a food? Well my friends, because it is and let me tell you why.
I would like to help deepen your experience with chocolate and introduce you to cacao (ke’kou). The word cacao means “food for the gods”. Cacao in its rawest form is the world’s most nutrient dense food on the planet and due to this fact it has been classified in a higher echelon food group called Superfoods.
What makes it raw is that the temperature is never raised above the 118 degree mark. When raising the temperature over this mark, you begin to kill all the things in the food that are valuable. Another inescapable fact for chocolatiers is: once you cook cacao all the fatty acids are destroyed and become rancid, which causes inflammation in our body once consumed. As a raw chocolatier, I am not bringing it remotely close to 118 degree mark which allows everything to stay in tact.
Cacao is the best natural food source for the following nutrients: Antioxidants, Magnesium, Iron, Chromium, Manganese, Zinc, Vitamin C, Copper, Omega Fatty Acids, Anandamide, Phenylethylamine (PEA), tryptophan, Serotonin and Fiber.
All our chocolates are handmade and infused with herbs and other superfoods. However, let us not forget the most important superfood of them all, Love. I pour and surround my chocolate with copious amounts of Love and as you begin to indulge I believe it is inevitable that you will experience such bliss.
Be sure to click our events page and check out what is happening. I am currently planning on opening a chocolate lounge sometime here in Connecticut in the near future.
Thank you so much for visiting us here at Aruna Chocolates and supporting our vision.
Blessings, Aruna & Kerry
